International Coursework
Intro to Arts in Medicine
HUM2592- Spring 2019
Arts in Medicine was my very first ISP class. What intrigued me the most about this course is the combination of two distinct forms of healing. In this class, I was able to explore healing through the arts personally and in a global context. I analyzed the cultural, theoretical, scientific and practical linkages and interdependencies between the arts, health, and healthcare. Arts in Medicine was one of my most hands-on class yet with every week featuring interaction with our peers in an art activity or other projects. The picture to the left is a piece that I created in class. I do not consider myself artistic at all, but this piece of art that I created will be cherished forever.

Challenge 2050: Global Uncertainty
ALS2410- FAll 2019
In Challenge 2050, I developed an appreciation and understanding for the intersection between social and natural sciences necessary for addressing global challenges. I learned about the Sustainable Development Goals, as they were the underlying subject of the course. Through individual research and exploration, I engaged in a semester long inquiry to SDG 2: Zero Hunger. For my SDG, I conducted interviews with Dr. Dina Liebowitz and Dr. Karla Shellnut and toured the UF garden. The infographic to the left is one part of my Global Issue Project. I compiled all my research for the semester into this infographic. I value my experience in this class because I substantially improve my critical thinking skills to solve problems.

Chemistry in la Cocina Latina (the Latin Kitchen)
IDS2935- Spring 2020
Chemistry in the la Cocina Latina was my most fun ISP class yet. It took such a unique take on what a course could look like. This class combined how chemistry is essential to our understanding of the world and expressed importance for a global understanding of Hispanic/Latinx foods and cultures. I participated in classic chemistry lab experiments while also cooking recipes in the kitchen with classmates. Through the course, I gained a new appreciation of chemistry in my everyday life and became more aware of how Hispanic/Latinx cultures are an integral part of the United States cultural makeup.

Women, Leadership, & Diversity
WST3371- Summer 2020
Women, Leadership, and Diversity was my very last ISP course taken at UF. Through this class, I gained core knowledge to further improve my professional development. I also analyzed how gender impacts opportunities for leadership across different cultural groups. I gained awareness of the value of strong leadership in knowledge-based economies. I used that awareness to then connect knowledge about leadership theory to different workplace contexts, industries, and nationalities. This class also gave me the time and space to think about my professional development. I looked into the requirements needed for my dream jobs, drafted a personal mission statement, and got to engage with others genuinely.
